Welcome. I hope you will find what you are looking for in these pages. My expertise includes dealing with day to day stressors or serious and chronic conditions related to trauma and abuse. If you are seeking new ideas to deal with current difficulties, or wish to find release from longstanding historical issues, I will effectively guide you in your process.
Working with teenagers, I have found either the need to facilitate communication between client and parent, or when a parent is unable to participate, to assist the teen in coming to terms with the realities of their family life. For couples grappling with relational conflict, or the struggles and confusion related to separation or divorce, I am able to promote clients' clarity and insight through that process. When client's at retirement are challenged with loss of identity, they may discover a fertile opportunity to deepen their sense of self. Lastly, I am fond of working with elders through transitions of aging, the emotional impact of chronic pain, loss of a partner, as well as end of life issues. I maintain my skills by engaging in continued trainings, consulting with colleagues whose expertise I respect, and keeping abreast of current information. With 25 years of experience, I enjoy working with adults and elders from diverse cultural groups in individual and relationship therapy. I also work with children who are old enough to engage in talk therapy, and teens who come voluntarily to sessions. An ideal client is one who will entertain the idea of healing even if ambivalent, and who will engage in a therapeutic relationship even if trust has been a challenge in the past. Whether it is depression/anxiety, questions about sexuality or gender, concerns about the normalcy of one's experiences, or myriad complexities of daily life, I invite you to begin or continue your journey in a safe and confidential environment. I have a strong history in addictions, although I do not see therapy as a substitute for treatment more suited to peer or residential approaches. |

I accept most insurances, including Medicare, and
client's are also able to bill insurance for reimbursement. Your phone calls are always welcome. I do not communicate with clients through emails or texts. Thank you! |
